Is Universal's Express Pass Unlimited worth it?

January 04, 20242 min read

Universal's Express Pass Unlimited is an additional cost for guests not staying at one of Universal Orlando's Premier Resorts. At what point does it make sense to just stay at a Premier Resort like Universal’s Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Universal’s Hard Rock Hotel®, or Universal’s Loews Royal Pacific Resort?

Express Pass

As a travel agent, I'm always trying to give my clients the best experience for their budget. Universal Orlando Resort offers a great value for guests staying at one of their Premier Resorts. Guests receive Universal's Express Pass Unlimited for staying at a Premier Resort.

Prices for theme park tickets, express passes, and hotel rooms can vary based on factors like the time of year, special promotions, and any changes made by the theme park, so it's always a good idea to check pricing for a Premier Resort if your family would like to benefit from the use of Universal's Express Pass Unlimited.

To determine the break-even point, you would need to compare the cost of purchasing Universal Express Pass Unlimited as part of a package with a stay at one of Universal Orlando Resort's Value, Prime Value, or Preferred Resort Hotels with the cost of booking a room at a Premier Resort that includes Express Pass Unlimited benefits.

Here's a general approach to finding the break-even point:

  1. Determine the Cost of Universal Express Pass Unlimited as part of a package with a stay at one of Universal Orlando Resort's Value, Prime Value, or Preferred Resort Hotels: Find out the current price for the Universal Express Pass Unlimited for your stay dates packaged with a stay at Universal’s Loews Sapphire Falls Resort, Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort, Universal’s Aventura Hotel, Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Surfside Inn and Suites, Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Dockside Inn and Suites.

  2. Determine the Cost of Premier Resort Stay with Express Pass Unlimited: Look for the cost of booking a room at a Premier Resort like Universal’s Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, Universal’s Hard Rock Hotel®, or Universal’s Loews Royal Pacific Resort that includes Express Pass Unlimited benefits. Take into account the total cost of the stay.

  3. Compare the Costs: Compare the total cost of purchasing the Universal Express Pass Unlimited as part of a package at a non-Premier Resort with the cost of booking a room at a Premier Resort.

Keep in mind that the point at which a Premier Resort stay makes sense may vary depending on your specific circumstances, preferences, and the number of days you plan to spend at the park.
